Update on the 2024 Regular Session - Nothing meaningful accomplished

Folks,

Below is an item I recently posted on my Facebook page.  I'd like to say
we accomplished more, but my job is to ensure you all know the truth,
and not fabricate 'successes.'  Others can do that.  I prefer honesty.

I apologize for the delay in my report on the 2024 Regular Session. Long
story short, nothing meaningful was accomplished.

As I’ve mentioned in several forums, I believe we are in the most
dangerous year in our country’s history, and in world history. With a
world war looming, the on-going tyranny and havoc of the Biden regime,
economic disruption and the probability of Biden driving us off the
cliff into the abyss, surging crime, and myriad other issues, my focus
this past month has been on ensuring we are electing the right leaders
to protect West Virginia from the increasing chaos. I have been
door-knocking almost every day (with breaks enforced by the rain and to
celebrate Easter with family) to ensure I understand what voters are
concerned about, and to let the People know who I believe can help
address those concerns.

As part of the Freedom Caucus that Patricia Rucker and I formed with
other solid Conservatives, I focused on defending against the increasing
tyranny we are seeing from the Biden regime. Without Liberty, there can
be no progress on the many issues we need to address. Tyranny, which is
what the Left wants, means all progress is lost. I sponsored a number of
bills specifically to defend West Virginia, and co-sponsored other bills
by Freedom Caucus members and other Conservatives to tackle the other
key issues facing West Virginia.

Unfortunately, the Conservatives in our Legislature are outnumbered.
Corporatists, RINOs, and Democrats hold a bare majority in the House of
Delegates and a larger majority in the Senate. Our successes in this
session were in stopping insanity, particularly preventing more massive
corporate handouts (aka economic subsidies) for Leftist companies, such
as Form Energy, but we did not have enough votes to drive an agenda to
defend and benefit our great state.

I will detail more regarding our pathetic Regular Session in a future post.

Sincerely,

Bill Ridenour

Delegate, District 100
